Day 1: Puerto Maldonado
Reception at the airport of Puerto Maldonado before a small city-tour with a planned visit of a typical market. After a forty-five minutes’ navigation on the Madre de Dios River, arrival at the posada Corto Maltes Amazonia where a refreshing drink will be offered. Accommodation in bungalows.
After a little nap, first excursion in the jungle by the "trochas" (small trails winding through the forest), for about three to four hours. Return for rest and dinner.

| Day 2: Corto Maltes.
A visit to a clay lick where hundreds of colourful parrots arrive to feed on clay which helps them to neutralise poisons consumed in their diet. Later in the morning, departure for Monkey Island where different species monkey live. We will then visit Lake Sandoval where we will walk for 5km through the luxuriant Amazonian Forest. Picnic lunch and canoeing on the lake.
We will fish for the famous "Pijaña” in the local style. Observation of the various species living here such as monkeys, tortoises, birds, otters, butterflies, etc. Unforgettable sunset on the lake and return to the lodge at dusk. After dinner, an exciting caiman safari in search of these Latin American Alligators.

Day 3:Corto Maltes - Taricaya
After breakfast, a boat trip on the Rio Madre de Dios to the botanical gardens, with an explaination on the agricultural work on coffee, cacao, caimitos etc). After a typical lunch, a walk through the jungle in search of fauna. We will also ascend a large Ceiba tree by stairs to a platform (45 meters above the jungle floor), to see life in the canopy of the Amazon rainforest. Return to the lodge.
Day 4: Corto Maltes - Puerto Maldonado
After early breakfast, return to Puerto Maldonado for your return flight home (not included).
